For my third and final opportunity as a graduate assistant, I worked more with the Traditional Threads project, had weekly office hours, TA’d for a message construction class, and designed event flyers.

During my second semester as a GA, I worked closely with my professor, Amanda Stojanov, and we created an interactive project titled Transitional Treads. I assisted with production, programming, and development, and designed the sounds for the project. Using the Unity Real-Time Development Platform, VIVE headset technology, and Blender, viewers can create new meanings by manipulating words through movement, decay, and disruption. The movement of the words and the user symbolizes the transitional space between leaving and arriving. The project is being submitted to festivals, exhibitions, and conferences for 2024.

I also worked with another GA to create a TikTok account for the communication department: @monmouth.communication. We researched what kinds of videos we wanted to produce, who our audience was, and what our audience wanted to see. I designed the logo for the account, and then we filmed different videos for it, including some would-be student spotlights, school trips, and different classes on campus. CapCut was used to edit the videos.
Some of the work completed included running the Communication Department’s Instagram and posting about the current GAs, alumni, and events. Also, I designed flyers for two on-campus department events. I was also asked to attend as many events as possible and assist students in my classes.
